Find out about the Enterprising Places Network (EPN)

There are many regional and local networks across the UK eager to engage with professionals involved in the enterprise agenda within their locality.  Demands on time and everyday tasks limit the opportunities for joining every network so before you become over burdened with requests take time to consider joining a new national network run by Make Your Mark.

The new Enterprising Places Network (EPN) launched ahead of Enterprise Week 2008 is currently seeking members from across the UK, find out more about this innovative network and then put yourself forward as a member.

The EPN seeks to bring together those who have transformed their local areas through encouraging enterprise and sharing their knowledge and expertise.

Main objectives of the network will be to:

  • Gather exemplars of enterprise practice across the UK
  • Capture experiences of local enterprise development
  • Share inspirational stories
  • Stimulate debate around the key elements of enterprise.

In addition it will aim:

  • To showcase innovative approaches to enterprise, linking like minded place to one another through the sharing of good practice
  • To provide an interactive forum that connects Enterprising Britain winners and entrants
  • To stimulate debate and discussion across the UK on how to create enterprising places
  • To share experience and inspirational stories, linking ideas to action.

The network will take the form of:

  • An interactive on-line discussion space with a weekly theme as chosen by its members
  • Regular webcasts, focused on those people delivering enterprising initiatives
  • Regular podcasts, collecting enterprise news from the network and campaign
  • Regional events, which will be held each quarter hosted by enterprising places.

Membership of the network will be diverse and will include individuals and organisations from a variety of backgrounds.  Nominations for membership are being sought from; Local Authorities, local strategic partnerships, regeneration projects, community and social enterprises, and chambers of commerce across the UK.  Those interested can put themselves forward by emailing epn@makeyourmark.org.uk
