Enterprising.at a new network to inspire, support and promote young people in business
Experiencing a gap in the provision of business support for young people led Jonathan Grubin and Priya Vedhara, two young entrepreneurs from the North East to set up enterprising.at a free-to-access community offering regular member-managed events and an active website.
With the support of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum and connections with organisations like Young Enterprise and Business Link, enterprising.at will provide young people with a sounding board from which to gain inspiration, advice and direction for ideas.
Commenting on the network Jonathan Grubin said: “There are lots of organisations who offer support for young people but they don’t always understand the challenges from our perspective. We’re about helping each other and helping others to help us – by sharing experiences and ways of tackling the issues we face as young entrepreneurs”.
The key principle underpinning enterprising.at is simple – it will work to share knowledge, experiences and perspective across the network for the benefit of all.
The aim is to build a network of young entrepreneurs who will run their own ‘unplugged’ events. ‘Unplugged’ events can happen anywhere, at any time, with as few as four young people – they can be planned in advance, be tagged onto an existing group or happen spontaneously.
A pack is being made available for interested young entrepreneurs who’d like to become an enterprising.at co-ordinator / facilitator which offers support and guidance on the role.
www.enterprising.at will operate as a hub site with content and information on events hosted through www.ifwecanyoucantalk.co.uk – an existing social networking site targeting young people who are interested in developing their entrepreneurial potential. Enterprising.at has its own group within Talk – and enterprising.at events, videos, forums, blogs will all be promoted and available on the site.
Enterprising.at was launched in the North East on February 25. The nature of the network will allow for expansion to other regions with co-founder Jonathan hoping to be studying in London next year following completion of his A-levels.
So watch out for enterprising.at events in London come early September!
