Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2009
With Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2009 quickly approaching (16 – 22 November) why not take the opportunity this summer to get thinking about ideas for your school, college, university or organisation to get involved and help individuals in your local community harness their talent and realise their full potential.
If you’d like some inspiration to get you started with your GEW planning, Make Your Mark is holding Meet-ups across the country which are packed full of hints, tips and inspiration. Check out areas that have already held their events for idea and visit www.gew.org.uk/events/meet-ups for a full list of GEW Meet-ups and details of how to get signed up for an event in your area.
If you’ve already done the planning and have a superb idea for an event with the planning already being underway why not let Make Your Mark know about them and be in with a chance to win some goodies.
If your event has an international theme, is being held in a quirky place, has lots of people attending or has a high-profile speaker then Make Your Mark would like to hear from you with a view to highlighting the best events in the media and perhaps even have Ministerial attendance. By sending a 200 word event description to sarahsummers@makeyourmark.org.uk you could be in with a chance to win a live video link-up with an entrepreneur based in another country and other goodies.
One event which is sure to get lots of registrations from across the UK is the Make Your Mark Challenge which is being held on 16 November 2009. Make a date for you diary to register for this year’s Challenge on the 1 September 2009. It’s free to enter and is an effective way to engage those aged 14 to 19 in a fun and rewarding enterprise activity.
A more detailed information pack will be available in September but in the meantime any questions regarding the Challenge should be made to 08450 940226 or email challenge@makeyourmark.org.uk
