NFEA launches ACT for enterprise sector professionals

NFEA (the national enterprise network) announced the launch of ACT in February - a new membership programme for individuals working within the enterprise sector.  ACT will provide a unique network for like-minded professionals who offer services such as advice, coaching, mentoring and training to those starting and running small businesses.  NFEA has created this programme at a crucial time, when quality support for those starting and growing businesses has never been more important.

ACT membership will offer members a programme of activities including training and development, locally-based peer networking as well as national representation from NFEA – the only national business support association in the country.  NFEA will be accepting ACT membership applications from 1st April 2009.  You can express your interest by emailing enquires@nfea.com or find out more about ACT here.

Speaking of the new initiative, NFEA Chief Executive George Derbyshire said: “Enterprise support is a growing industry and contains a number of roles which are becoming increasingly more specialised - including advisers, coaches, trainers, brokers and mentors.  We have recognised the need to actively support this group of professionals and ACT will now offer national representation, training and development as well as networking across the country.”

ACT will launch its activity with an inaugural conference sponsored by The Royal Bank fo Scotland in Nottingham on Tuesday 28 April 2009.
The day long event is open to business advisers, coaches and trainers as well as stakeholders in the sector.

Conference delegates will have the chance to:
• Hear from a leading speaker on enterprise support policy
• Develop technical skills and knowledge
• Find out more about the new ACT initiative
• Network with other enterprise support professionals
• Sign up as a founding ACT member on the day.

Delegates can also choose to attend one of three technical workshops

Workshop 1: Business formation
- Learn about different business structures and how to manage the technical process from the National Business Register
Workshop 2: Marketing as a freelancer - Find out how to market yourselves with this tailored presentation from the Chartered Institute of Marketing
