Enterprising Competition for Film Lovers

The European commission has launched a competition for enterprising film lovers under the age of 25 and challenged them to produce a short video on encouraging and supporting entrepreneurship.

The competition is ideal for those with entrepreneurial spirit and who love the idea of being their own boss. The European Commission is looking for creative people who can encapsulate the essence of entrepreneurialism on film and showcase their skill at the same time.

The videos will be judged in three categories:

A different way of life
Challenges and rewards
The way to the future

The winning video in each of the three categories will be awarded € 3,333, second place will be awarded € 2,222, and those in third place will receive € 1,111.

The deadline for submissions is 9 April 2010.

The producers of the best videos will be invited to a special award ceremony on 25 May 2010 in Brussels, as part of the 2nd European SME Week.
The second annual European SME Week  will take place from 25 May to 1 June and aims to provide information on what the EU and national, regional and local authorities are offering as support to micro, small and medium-sized businesses; promote entrepreneurship so that more people, and in particular younger ones, seriously consider becoming an entrepreneur as a career option and give recognition to entrepreneurs for their contribution to Europe’s welfare, jobs, innovation and competitiveness.
