April Edition

Welcome to the latest edition of EnterpriseUpfront, your bi-monthly e-zine for current developments in enterprise, bringing you the latest news, views and research.

We’re now well into 2011 and enterprise is high on the agenda for policy makers, educators and communities alike.
This month we take a look at the Government’s plans to support every school to run its own business through the Enterprise Champions Programme. We gain a further insight into Tenner Tycoon the successful competition owned and run by the Peter Jones Foundation which gives young people the opportunity to take forward their business ideas, and find out about the first round of the Regional Growth Fund.
We learn about the topical Government backed launch of Start-Up Britain, the response from the private sector to the Government’s call for an ‘enterprise-led’ recovery. We also take a closer look at Businesses in Bloom and Crowdcube an alternative way for young people to gain investment for their business ideas.
