The Peter Jones Enterprise Academy Launch their Commissioning Plan 2012
The
Enterprise Academy is designed to be different from traditional business
courses and aims to fill the learning gap for those aged 16-19 who wish to
specialise in enterprise and entrepreneurship. The Academy promotes
a philosophy of ‘Learning by doing’ and as such at least 50% of learning
time at the academies is carried out by guest speakers, master classes and
workshops.
From a standing start in 2008, the Enterprise Academy has established itself as a professional and business-like centre of excellence for the teaching of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship to young people, designing and delivering an innovative curriculum.
Excellent results were achieved in the first full year of delivery, with the Amersham campus achieving a 100% Level 3 pass rate against a national benchmark of 83%. This excellence continued for the following year, 2010/2011 where 48% of Enterprise Academy students across all campuses achieved Distinction or above in their qualifications.
As an official Enterprise Academy Provider you will not only have the prestige of the Academy reputation behind you but will have access to a wide range of curriculum resources which have been developed by both the Academy curriculum team and Pearson Education. In addition, official providers will receive access to corporate partners to support curriculum delivery and be invited to take part in national campaigns and challenges.

The Peter Jones Enterprise Academy also relies on generous corporate partners to provide the real life business element of our courses. They provide the expertise and resources to help deliver entrepreneurial ‘learning by doing’ educational experience. They welcome support from all types of businesses from small local start ups to international companies to give students the broadest range of business advice possible to support and realise their business dreams.
Partnership with the Academy is designed as a two-way street. So while partners contribute significantly to the success, they benefit from a supply of young, talented and enthusiastic students as well as contributing to their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals and employee development.
Partners’ expertise goes a long way to fulfilling many aspects of students’ learning, including helping to deliver:
- Master classes
- Work experience
- Entrepreneurial learning
- Business Challenges
- Workshops
- Company visits
- Scholarships
